Waterbending
Skill Name: Waterbending
Parent Skill: N/A
Description: Waterbending is the ability to control water, it's flow, shape, and form. Waterbending is powered by one's exposure to the moon, the closer one is to the moon, the greater strength one's water bending can have. The technique for traditional waterbending originally began in the Northern Water tribe, but was also adopted by the Southern Water tribe. In order for an individual to waterbend, they must first have a source of water to draw from. Most require a bottle or open source of water, while more advanced users can take trace amounts of water from their environments. Waterbending attacks usually consist of liquid whips, compressed blasts of water, or large waves. It can be used defensively in the form of large barriers, or even coat an advanced user's body like armor.
Skill Ranks:
- Rank 1 (Beginner). A beginner waterbender can only manipulate water in simple ways, and must always have a large source of water available to them. This can produce only weak attacks and defenses.
- Rank 2 (Adept). An adept waterbender has either been formally trained, or had a significant amount of practice with waterbending. They can manipulate water more finely, draw from smaller reservoirs, and produce attacks capable of incapacitating the average adult.
- Rank 3 (Expert). An Expert waterbender has had a long time to frequently practice or train in their craft. They only require a small amount of water to produce decent defensive and offensive techniques, while also being able to draw from even smaller sources such as a vial or cup. With a decent amount of water, an Expert waterbender could easily flood small buildings, topple small ships, or even overturn lightly armored vehicles.
- Rank 4 (Master). A master waterbender has become not only an incredibly power practitioner of their craft, but skill enough to properly teach as well. They are capable of drawing water from sources many thought not possible such as flowers or clouds, and can produce devastating attacks with just small amounts of water. Master waterbenders could easily flood small villages, topple medium-sized ships, or even overturn heavily armored vehicles.
- Rank 5 (Grand Master). A Grand Master of waterbending is an incredibly rare sight to see. They can draw water from the air itself and produce attacks capable of flooding entire islands. Previously, the only recorded waterbending Grand Masters have been avatars...
