The Four Nations

The final battle of the hundred years war came to a close. The most powerful individuals in history were all in attendance: the Avatar, Phoenix King Ozai, Fire Lord Azula, Prince Zuko, and many others. The battle was unlike anything else in history, explosive and destructive. No witness were left to tell the full tale, as their battles ended in mutual destruction. Both Aang and Ozai would fall to each other's might. The prince and his sister would kill each other. Finally, the resistance forces fell to the masses of Fire Nation soldiers...
The war would end, as the Fire Nation lost it's greatest leaders, and the resistance lost their greatest fighters. The remnants of each army would return to their respective homes, and there would be relative peace for a time. This peace did come at a cost, a cold war. Both the Water Tribe and Earth Kingdom would improve their military might, as well as their infrastructure. Slowly, the other nations were beginning to approach the Fire Nation's level of technology.
Thirty years would pass, and during that time, a true miracle would occur. Air benders, thought to be extinct, would begin budding up throughout the world. They have no clear leader, but many have began restoring the destroyed temples. By the end of the thirty year period, the temples would be fully inhabited once again, newer than ever.
Ever since the final battle, the Avatar had disappeared yet again, to the eyes of the common man at least. In actuality, Aang was killed while in the Avatar State. The avatar cycle was ended... However, something new did come to take it's place. The hundreds of spirits harbored in the avatar cycle would all be split up, each carrying a small piece of Raava with them. Upon Aang's death, all former avatars would begin a mass reincarnating! Some would take years to appear, others would be born only a few months later. Rumors throughout the world would spread, there were now multiple avatars, or fragments of them.
Meanwhile, in the spirit world, things would begin to shake up. With Raava spilt up between so many different hosts, Vaatu would begin plotting to overthrow her. Thirty-five years after the war's final battle, a new man would rise to lead the Fire Nation. Fire Lord Fang Rah, a dark avatar powered by Vaatu, and a proficient warrior elected by the generals of the Fire Nation.
With a new powerful leader, many fear that the cold war may come to a close, and a second hundred-year war will take it's place...
