Faction Threads
Characters who belong to factions may create Faction Threads. These threads determine military and political actions being taken by the faction, and have a direct effect on a faction's Military Power and Size. Any member of a faction can create a Faction thread, but their organization can only receive extra benefits from their completion 3 times a month, irl.
When members of a faction complete a Faction Thread with 10 or more total posts, they can choose one of the following benefits, on top of regular thread rewards:
- Recruitment. Your faction gains +2,000 soldiers (+2 MP).
- Construction. Your faction gains +10 new vehicles of choice (+4 MP). Only available once per month, there must be 100 soldiers per vehicle for this bonus to remain active.
- Promotion. Your character is granted a military promotion. Your character is added to the Important Figures list, and grants +1 MP as long as you remain with the faction.
- Skirmish. A faction who you fought against loses up to 2,000 soldiers or 5 vehicles of choice (-2 MP). Only available once per month.
- Assault. A faction who you fought against loses up to 3,000 soldiers and 5 vehicles of choice (-5 MP). Only available once per month, AFTER picking the Skirmish reward.
- Battle. A faction who you fought against loses up to 5,000 soldiers and 10 vehicles of choice (-9 MP), Only available once per month, AFTER picking the Assault reward.
For a faction thread to be eligible for thread rewards, Two members of the same faction must participate at least. Members of opposing factions may join a faction thread in an attempt to thwart their efforts. If successful, the opposing faction gains the benefits instead.
Once every 3 months, if your faction received at least six rewards from faction threads in the 3 month period, they may attempt an Invasion/Liberation if they wish. In an Invasion thread, a faction attempts to conqueror an entire board for their faction. If successful, they receive a temporary +10 MP for the next 3 months, and the robbed party receives a -10 MP penalty for the next 3 months.
In an Invasion, Each involved faction puts up a 'wager' in the form of military power. The maximum wager is equal to the number of important figures x10 that a faction possesses. Any number of faction members can join an Invasion thread, but must have a valid reason for doing so. Once a character has joined an invasion, they cannot join other threads until it ends.
The size of a faction's wager is equivalent to the military forces brought to assist them. If the Fire Nation wagered 40 MP, and the Earth Kingdom only wagered 20 MP, the Fire Nation would have twice as many soldiers at the Invasion for example. The faction that loses the encounter loses the wagered MP, and gets to select what forces are defeated!
