Plantbending
Skill Name: Plantbending
Parent Skill: Waterbending
Description: Plantbending, formally referred to as "Foggy Swamp Style Waterbending", is a waterbender's ability to manipulate trace amounts of water within plants. This style can usually only be used in conjunction with plants that contain large amounts of water, such as vines, seaweed, or succulents. Plants with thick bark or roots are almost always inaccessible to plantbenders. Most practitioners of this style coat their entire bodies in a thick layer of plant life, resulting in a protective and unconventional form of armor. Their vine and plant manipulation can be used to restrain or bludgeon foes, and usually impacts with greater force than regular water bending. This style's greatest downfall is that it requires either aquatic, jungle, or swamp-like territory to consistently replenish lost vegetation.
Skill Ranks:
- Rank 1 (Beginner). A beginner Plantbender can only manipulate plants in simple ways, they can cause vines to gently move from one place to another or cause a cactus flower to bloom.
- Rank 2 (Adept). An adept Plantbender has either been formally trained, or had a significant amount of practice with plantbending. They can manipulate vines more finely, and even coat their limbs with vegetation which they can extend to act as an extra long arm or leg.
- Rank 3 (Expert). An Expert Plantbender has had a long time to frequently practice or train in their craft. They can produce an entire suit of armor from plant life that resembles something of a golem, and can sustain much more damage than usual. The attacks of their golem are capable of smashing small vehicles or cabbage carts in a single blow.
- Rank 4 (Master). A master Plantbender has become not only an incredibly power practitioner of their craft, but skilled enough to properly teach as well. They are capable of gathering plantlife in areas previously in accessible such as forests and grassy fields. Additionally, their plant golems are significantly larger and more physical destructive, able to take down entire buildings in a single blow.
- Rank 5 (Grand Master). A Grand Master of Plantbending is an incredibly rare sight to see. They can produce plant golems the size of warships, with enough vegetation, and destroy multiple buildings in a single attack.
