Firebending
Skill Name: Firebending
Parent Skill: N/A
Description: Firebending is the ability to control and produce fire. Firebending is powered by one's exposure to the sun, the closer one is to the sun, the greater strength one's fire bending can have. The art of firbending originated in the fire nation many centuries ago from individuals who barrowed the power from lion turtles. Firebenders do not require a physical source of power, and can produce flames from thin air, unlike Waterbenders or Earthbenders. Though this may seem like a large advantage at first, firebending can be weakened while fighting at night, or completely nullified during a solar eclipse. Firebending attacks are far less complex than other elements, they only consist of slinging fireballs or shooting concentrated bursts of flame. Firebending is considered to be the world's most common form of bending.
Skill Ranks:
- Rank 1 (Beginner). A beginner firebender can only use their abilities in short bursts. They can start small camp fires and sling weak fireballs, but do very little else.
- Rank 2 (Adept). An adept firebender has much more stamina, allowing them to launch concentrated streams of fire or propel basketball-sized fireballs dozens of meters away. Common Fire Nation soldiers tend to be of this skill rank.
- Rank 3 (Expert). An Expert firebender has had much time to practice in their craft, and can incorporate firebending into other aspects of their fighting style such as their unarmed or melee attacks. Experts can also bend fire beneath their feet for a propelled jump. The flames of an Expert firebender are enough to melt through most metals in a concentrated burst.
- Rank 4 (Master). A master firebender has trained for many years to perfect their technique, and likely defeated other masters to get where they are today. A master firebender could destroy a residential building with a single blast of flame, and even bend fire beneath their feet to fly for a short duration.
- Rank 5 (Grand Master). The only individuals who could be seen as Grand Master firebenders were Avatar Roku and Fire Lord Ozai during Souzan's comet. Grand Master firebenders are easily capable of producing multiple powerful fireballs, and could easily wipeout a large village in a single flurry of attacks.
