Sayaka raised both brows in astonishment. If she had to be honest, she didn't expect the other woman to go into further detail about her family life. Could she have somehow advanced through the vagueness? As much as it felt like a victory, it was obviously a very sensitive topic. She could relate. "That's quite the family life you had. No need to continue." She said. It was for the best, anyway.

"Sounds like a very capable young girl for her age." Sayaka complimented. Almost too good, she would've thought. She didn't know how old the girl was for someone that claimed she was much younger. Then again, she could be underestimating her abilities. Maybe only time could tell until she meets her.

"Seems as if your sister is your only family to stick around. Err, not to try and sound... insensitive. I can only hope that the bond between you two remain strong." She said.

Nix Night

Nix snorted as the other woman first spoke, tilting her head to one side and nodding it a few times before she righted it and then chuckling again. "She's one to stand on her own for sure" she agreed after a few seconds, an amused smile lingering on her face as she answered, though as the other woman spoke again, she did quieten down. She listened for a moment before wincing, though she quickly tried to hide it as she knew the other woman merely used the words which made sense, not knowing quite how much her words stung in that moment. Pushing the ache away, she nodded in agreement to the comment before she swallowed a breath of air. "And yourself? No siblings sure but parents? Cousins? Aunts and the like?" she asked after a few seconds, turning her gaze on to the other woman and looking her up and down. She wanted to try and get a read on her, see what else she might give away even if she spoke. After all, nix herself knew she hide a lot within her words, even if she was bad at hiding it that well. Sayaka hummed in contemplation and looked away, wondered if she should tell any of her family history. She had no problem in admitting how terrible her father was and how lovely her mother was. It came to a point where she wouldn't shed a tear when telling her woes."My mother was an angel. Cousins, aunts, uncles... not too sure. Last time I ever saw any one of them, they were on the pleasant note." She admitted. It was a safe step towards something a little more personal, but again, something she didn't mind telling.

"But now... I don't know how they feel about me. I can thank my father for that. Before, he loved me. When he found out about something that happened to me that was... out of my control, that man wants me dead. It was to a point where I have to flee the nation when I was very young. That was when I lost the concept of privilege and having everything at birth." Sayaka went quiet as her eyes almost seemed lost in thought, the inside of her cheek being chewed.

But she was quick enough to recover and shake the thought away with a shrug. "But I don't feel bad what happened to me. In fact, I'm grateful. It showed me a different perspective of how I'm supposed to view the world. In a way, I embraced what made me different, even if it made others uncomfortable." She said.

"That said, I do hope to one day go back on a more positive note and pray they won't treat me any different." She continued with a shrug.

Nix glanced sideways to the other woman, listening to her but keeping her own head facing forwards on the path they were walking on. They were closer to the main path now, there was a thinning to the grass and the bushes were much smaller, it wouldn't be long before they were on the path to the next village and the redhead became very aware she might just need to slip her company if she was going to actually travel a decent distance today. Shaking her head to focus as she heard the words "father" and "love", the girl moved her eyes back to her company. "See i expect i sound cynical but i find a lot of people do that, they find out something they dislike or notice something that to them is not ok and thats it, mind made up" she said, lifting one hand without really thinking about it or noticed herself to tuck a wisp of long and wild red hair behind one of her ears. She chuckled as the other woman went on, nodding to her comment. "I get that, ive had to deal with so much rubbish in my life. From people and from life itself and even just bad rolls of the dice of fate, but if you took that away i wouldnt be me" she laughed out, lifting her head up to look at the sky above her as she spoke. It was true, and the sentiment behind it was very honest, something the redhead hadn't really admitted to herself. Well, not out loud. Sayaka - Im thinking an attempt to give the slip in a post or two, probably not going well and m making a little more dislike. then that second thread with nix begging for her help?

Sayaka shrugged. "I guess that's what I get for already seeing the good in people that I didn't have doubts about, especially my father." It was a truth she eventually had to accept; being a child versus being an adult had its gaping differences on how far she saw the good or bad in people. As a child it was devastating what her father did to her. Now? It was something to look back on and couldn't help but chuckle at the situation.

"You have a point there. And on the plus side, you have someone to lean on compared to me." Sayaka admitted with a laugh. "And uh, apologies for sort of spilling a little too much information just now I just don't mind telling this story over and over again. It's actually a little fun to these days." Except for leaving out more sensitive facts that appeared later down the line.

"Speaking of which, I can't wait to meet your sister. Something tells me I'm going to like her."

Nix Night

Nix raised an eyebrow at the words of the other woman, noting away the fact that the girl and her father clearly had some issue in her mind before she merely nodded to her. She had her own issues with her own blood and while once, when she was younger, she would have been unhappy to discuss or be asked of her Kin, she'd reached the point where now she almost wanted people to ask. However, she would not, truth be told she wanted to find a way to slip away form this woman before she actually found minx. As the other woman spoke again, nix chuckled and then tilted her head again, she wasn't wrong. "True, someone is helpful" she said simply, though she held up a hand as the next words hit her. The sleeves on her purple shirt rolled back a little, moving down very thin but toned arms to reveal the redheads scars, not that she had noticed yet. They were long, running all the way up each forearm as she held her hands up, and clearly were once deep from the color of them but it seemed the redhead hadn't noticed her shirt was not quite fitting right. "It's fine, who better than a stranger to dump issues on" she said with a weak chuckle and an attempt at a smile. "Im here for fun, if it is in fact a really fun story" she offered, quickly trying to think of ways to get away from her company. Sayaka

"Eh... I'm afraid what I just said about my father and I was the only fun story I had." Sayaka admitted with a sheepish shrug and smile. "But... I suppose there are a few other fun stories I have under my belt, but I think our definitions of 'fun' can be quite the opposites." She added.

She noticed that the other woman was riddled with scars which raised some concern. She wondered if she should press on the issue, but she decided against it. She believed she asked enough questions about the other woman for now, but perhaps for another time.

Sayaka looked ahead to see what other event in her life she could share. She didn't know when or where they'd see the other woman's sister, so she might as well keep the flow going to occupy themselves. "Oh! There was one time where this woman, who I thought looked like a bandit so I assumed she was a bandit, who confronted me. I thought she wanted valuables from me." She started off.

Then she couldn't help but hide her grin and shook her head. "Turns out she was an assassin paid by my father to bring me back dead or alive... well, dead if she wanted more money." She confessed.

She closed her eyes to reminisce the memory, her grin still in tact. "It was a fun fight. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't. She was strong, but I was faster and managed to escape. Call me crazy, but I hope one day our paths would cross." She chuckled.

Nix Night

Nix listened as the other woman spoke, though worried as she took in the words said that she might have touched on something negative and now was in even more a rush to get away from the other person who she had the sense she might have now upset. As a quiet moment passed between the duo ,nix was far too busy looking around herself for an escape path to noticed her scars had not only been noted but even looked over by the other woman, however the redhead's gaze did snap back to the other woman when she spoke again. Nix raised an eyebrow, though nodded as the story went on before smirking. "Faster than someone like that? How impressive" she commented, noting the skills of the other person to herself and thinking if she was going to do this, she had to do it now. Quickly shifting her feet so they were facing behind her but her body was forwards, the girl moved one hand down and she pulled her dagger from her belt up. She felt the coolness of the antler in her grip and then seem to calm and focus. Pushing off hard on the ground with one foot, she jumped up in to the air and then threw out the dagger to spear it in to a branch overhead of herself. A series of grunts later and the redhead pulled herself up, tugging herself in to the tree and then using one hand to grip the tree and the other to jab at it with her blade to climb up in to the branches to where she was not only out of sight but too dense within the treetops to be easy to access. Once she was sure she couldnt be seen, she flicked out the water from her water skin and then used it to steady herself before jumping to the next tree, using the water to balance and even grip the tree as she moved quickly away from her company.
