Disposition & History
Hango was born in the outer ring of the famous Ba Sing Se. The largest city in the world by most accounts. His family were simple farmers who irrigated the Earth King's land, and sold produce to the markets. It was a simple and honest trade, and one very much needed in preparation for a possible war. Many years ago, Hango's grandfather had been a soldier in the Earth Kingdom's military, and the young boy would grow up hearing many stories. These tales of his grandfather's bravery lead to him becoming someone brave and outspoken. The young lad even became protective over his friends, standing up to many elementary school bullies.
Like many others, Hango's parents were not benders, though his grandfather was. Born with a sense of duty, and genetic capabilities which skipped a generation, the boy would eventually discover the power of earthbending. While plowing the land one day, he would accidently till an entire row of soil with just his bending! Once notified, his parents expressed happiness that their son could help with their crop production, and bring the family even greater fortune. Unfortunately, this was not the destiny he had in mind. Bending was his grandfather's power, and Hango wanted to honor his legacy. Join the Earth Kingdom's army, and some day battle the Fire Nation. Maybe even help reestablish the colonies.
These were all grandiose dreams for a ten-year-old, but the thoughts of becoming a soldier would remain in his mind for years. As he grew older, the boy would frequently sneak out to practice earthbending, and would eventually draw the attention of another local. An Earth Kingdom lieutenant, Luhigh, would notice the young lad while patrolling the outer ring on night. Being the man he was, the lieutenant would greet the young boy and help him improve his stance. Before long, the pair would meet weekly for lessons, up until Hango's eighteenth birthday.
Against his parent's wishes, he would register in the Earth Kingdom's military and train with the best of the best. While he still had a long way to go, the now young man had heart. After basic training, he would eventually fulfil his dream of joining Luhigh's platoon, the Terra Team. With a hat on his head, and heart full of courage, the earthbender was ready for war.
